What can I expect from my appointments?

The first appointment is an initial assessment. This sessions allows the dietitian learn what your nutritional needs are and to create an intervention plan. At your first appointment expect to do a lot of talking while the dietitian does a lot of listening. In order to best help you, the dietitian needs to learn your health history, eating and activity habits, as well as your food likes and dislikes. The dietitian will then provide you with some information and suggestions for changes to help you achieve your goals.

Follow-up appointments help you keep the change going. They are when you and the dietitian can really dig into creating an eating plan that helps you achieve your goals. They will provide you with more knowledge about nutrition and your health. Change is a process, follow-up appointments will help guide you through it and answer any questions or concerns you have along the way. Challenges are a natural part of change. The dietitian will help find solutions and tweak your plan to make it work for you.
